Happy New Year!!

From all of us at the Week of, we would like to wish you all a happy new year! Can you believe it, after all that wishing, 2016 is finally over! However, our final part of our Christmas to New year posts is one final look back at the highs and lows of 2016.

We have scoured the internet for the best ‘look backs’ of 2016 and found a few which really capture the year that was 2016… both the bad and the good!

  1. A look back at 2016 – found via The Guardian, Buzzfeed, BBC iPlayer, Nature.com

Alot happened in 2016 and Ben Jennings Cartoon for The Guardian, pretty much sums it up. Brexit, Southern Rail Strikes & Pokemon Go.

Politics went crazy, and Buzzfeed have 111 tweets to back this statement up. In 2015 the highlight of British Politics was Ed Miliband eating a Bacon Sandwich, 2016 turned the dial up to 11 and everything was on fire. Brexit split the country, the value of the pound fell and we ended up with a new Prime Minister.

Charlie Brooker’s 2016 wipe gives the best overview and review of 2016. If aliens come to earth or someone wakes from a year long coma and are un need of a grasp of what has happened, Screen wipe would be the best place to start.

Away from Politics, and the lows of 2016, Nature.com gives us the best science photos of 2016. The Galactic and Extragalactic All-sky Murchison Widefield Array, (GLEAM) project, is a highlight of the article as it is gives us an image of a segment of the milky way, featuring more than 300,000 Galaxies.

Wishing you all a fantastic 2017, we will be back this Sunday!
